Little Sprouts Academy

June 14, 2008 by shutterlovestudio

I had the pleasure of meeting up with Christy from Little Sprouts academy earlier this year at the Toledo Baby Show and I was very impressed, so I wanted to feature them on our blog.

Here is my interview with her:

A little about your business:

Little Sprouts Academy is a licensed daycare in West Toledo.  We offer an advanced curriculum, college-educated instructors, all meals, and best of all peace of mind with our live internet webcams for parents to view anytime!

How did you get started in this field?

Working with children has always been rewarding for me.  Also, I wanted the chance to own a business that really cared about the well-being of both our customers and our employees.

What is your favorite part of your job?

I love when the children run up to show me what they did with their instructor that day and they have a big smile on their face.  The children really love our program and it touches my heart to know I helped contribute to make that happen.

When someone comes into your shop or hires your services, what should they expect?

Clients will get a safe and clean daycare center that truly cares about the well-being of their children as well as their family.  We get to know our parents on a more personal level, and we try to exceed all expectations they have of us.  We also work one-on-one with them to offer added flexibility and care for different developmental needs which many centers lack.

What makes you different from other people in your field?

I know that most people in the childcare field say they love kids, which makes us all the same.  What makes me different is the drive and dedication to provide an extremely rewarding environment for each child, and the peace of mind through our webcams for the parents.

What is one piece of advice you would give all your clients/customers/readers?

Do a lot of research before you choose a daycare center.  There are so many questions to ask to ensure you are getting quality.  For example, many people don’t think to ask about staff/child ratios in a center.  This can be extremely important as it shows how individualized care will be for your child.

Now a little about you:

What is your favorite restaurant in Toledo?

El Camino Real on the corner of Douglas and Sylvania.

What is your favorite band or type of music to listen to?

I like all kinds.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Hmmm….I can’t think of a guilty pleasure.  I do love chocolate.

What is one goal you have this year?

To expand our daycare into a new building in West Toledo We are working on this right now actually!

What is something people might be surprised to know about you?

I speak some Russian and play the French Horn.

What is something you think is beautiful?

Blue skies and sunshine in Toledo, Ohio. J

What is your best feature?

My sense of humor.

What is the best advice you have ever received?

Keep trying to reach your goal, but never compromise your personal ethics and morals.

What is one question you would add to this for other professional to answer?

What do you hope to add to our community?

Now answer it yourself :)

I hope to add a place where working parents can rest assured their child is in great care, as well as a place where employees truly enjoy working.

Annie + Jake = I Do

June 4, 2008 by shutterlovestudio

This past Saturday we had the privilege to photograph Annie and Jake’s wedding in Van Wert, OH.   There were a few things that I loved about this wedding, one being that they saw each other before the ceremony which left more time for photos :)  Two they are high school sweethearts and I love that!  I once read somewhere that high school sweethearts have a better record of success in marriage than any other kind.  (But I suppose so do  college sweethearts - right Joe ?!)   They also had lots of little detail as I mentioned before I am a detail junkie :)

We had such a good time with Annie and Jake and all their friends and family, I even ran into someone I was friends with when I was young, which is always a nice surprise :)

Here is a sneak peek, enjoy!

Thank you for letting us be part of your day, and we can’t wait till your Trash the Dress Session :)

Comments = happiness (so give us happiness and leave a comment :) )

Robin + Danny = I Do!

May 25, 2008 by shutterlovestudio

Yesterday Joe and I traveled to Cleveland to photograph Robin and Danny’s wedding.  I have been very excited for this wedding since we met last fall for their engagement session and really hit it off.  They are both very artistic and Robin and I actually went to Bowling Green for fine arts at the same time although we never knew each other there :(

Then when I got this in the mail a little after the engagement shoot I was fully pumped….

From this save the date you could tell that they were going to be putting their artistic talents into their wedding and I love when people make the wedding their own.

Robin looked stunning and Danny was quite handsome.  We had a fabulous time with them and their friends and family.  Here is a sneak peek…..

Enjoy!

The girls got ready for the day with hair, makeup, and some wedding movies (and a little ora reading :) ).  The guys always seem to have it a little easier than the girls and this wasn’t any different since the guys got to enjoy some wii before the ceremony :)

One of Robin’s friends sang during the ceremony and I am jealous of her beautiful voice, it was AMAZING!

I am a detail junkie and this wedding had my fix!  Check all the stuff that Robin and Danny made and that I was in AWE of their talent.  Here is only a few to name…. the flower (they are made from paper)… wreathes…  all the mens ties, cufflinks… cake topper…. centerpieces…  and the list goes on…. WOW is all I can say!

We had SO much fun, thank you for letting us be part of your day!

Stephanie + Pat = I Do :)

May 25, 2008 by shutterlovestudio

This past Friday we had the pleasure to photograph Stephanie and Pat’s wedding…

ceremony: Gesu Church

reception: Tamaron (a favorite of mine :)

She had a lot of pretty pink and green details to go with their theme.  The ceremony may have had a little snafu with no organist but they were lucky to have someone in the audience that had a fantastic voice and I believe it made the whole day more special :)

The weather couldn’t have been any better for the end of may so we were able to get outside to do some photos :)

I hope you two enjoy island hopping on your honeymoon.

Here is your sneak peek…..

Enjoy!

They both looked stunning….

Here are all those little details I was talking about….

Let the fun begin…

We had a blast at your wedding!

Thanks for letting us be a part of it.

Brooklyn = too cute :)

May 22, 2008 by shutterlovestudio

I went to Botanical gardens on Sunday to Photograph Brooklyn, who was one of the winners from the Toledo Baby Contest in April.  All I can say is she is too cute!

So here are the many adorable faces of Brooklyn….

Enjoy!

We also took a few photos with her new brother and I think these turned out adorable.  I think the way she is touching his head is precious and now one of my favorites.
