Heidi and Mark are engaged!

February 18, 2008

Over the weekend we met up with Heidi and Mark for their engagement shoot.  When we first discussed what location they wanted, they weren’t sure and said one of the things they have in common is their love for books and reading so what better place than the library. And I don’t know a more beautiful library around than the Main Branch of the Toledo Public Libraries, downtown on Michigan Ave, so that is where we headed.

The library provided many options and it had a super fun children’s section. We had a great time meeting Heidi and Mark and we can’t wait till their June wedding, which is coming up fast (so is the warmer weather :) )

Here are a few sneak peeks from your session…..

Isn’t she going to make a beautiful bride!

Mark said he knew on the second date that this was the woman he was going to marry, he said that it was just convincing her, which I have a feeling it didn’t take much convincing :)

Now some fun in the children’s section :)

Heidi and Mark we had a lot of fun on Saturday, good luck with all the last couple months of planning :)

As always we love comments so feel free to leave them!

kind words

February 8, 2008

We get a lot of messages from potential clients when they contact us about weddings or sessions and they are such kind word so I thought I would share some.  And just let you all know we really appreciate it at it makes my day.

We love what we do and we are glad it shows in our work.

“First of all, I love your website, as I was looking at the pics, I got tears in my eyes, and that’s what I want to happen when people look at my pics!”

“I was speaking with another photographer today, and I had to do the tough job of explaining to him that I would not be needing his services. After I mentioned that I would be going through you, he began telling me how talented you are, and how bright your future is. I think that is a wonderful compliment, especially coming from a competitor.”

“Thank you so much for everything. The pictures are absolutely amazing and I
can’t wait to get them printed so I can hand them out.”

Those were just a few that I came across while cleaning out our email inbox.

We just want to let you know that your kind words mean a lot to us because this is our love and our passion in life and we love to know that it is recognized and appreciate. We put our whole hearts into our photography because it is our art and we feel that it is important. Whether it is photographing your wedding, your senior photos or a moment in your families lives, we take it very seriously and love every moment of it. Photography is not a hobby for us, it isn’t just some side job we do for fun, it is our passion!

Thank you all for your kind words and keep them coming :)

Fine Art Canvases

February 7, 2008

I was so excited today when I looked out on my porch and saw I had a package, and it was a big one (I love getting mail and packages so without even  knowing what it was I was excited).  When I saw that it was our new samples of our fine are canvases I was ecstatic.

So you might be asking yourself what are these fine art canvases.

They are a new product that we are offering starting this year. Fine Art Canvases are  your photographs from your wedding, engagement session, family session, senior session, etc, put printed directly onto a Canvas. They are then professionally stretched onto a 1 1/2″ think wooden frame, like any fine piece of artwork (paintings) normally are.

Here are some photos of our new samples and let me know if you want to see them in person. If you are interested in getting one from a past session we will be glad to rerelease your session so you can pick which photo you want to have put on canvas.

The exciting package that started my day off in a good mood :)

This one is a 20×30″

This one is a 30×30″ and has multiple images and the birth-date and child’s name these are great to do with a new born and show off all those precious little body parts and facial expressions, because they grow so fast!

Since they stretch them I can add a child’s name on the side (example below) or the photo just continues onto the side which gives it a beautiful finish.

We have found that many people are afraid to hang large photos in you house, people tend to think an 11×14 is large. These are beautiful pieces and memories of your family don’t be afraid to show them off. When you come to a session or sit down to order photos or a canvas think about where you want to hang it. The photo below shows you how small the canvas looks on our wall, for a better impact we should have gotten a larger one and that canvas is a 20×40″ so it’s no tiny 8×10. We just want you to think about where your photo is going and what kind of impact you want to make. Large photos are truly pieces of art and should be treated as such (at least in my opinion :) )

Fine Art Canvases come in most sizes (starting at an 8×10) and we can even customize sizes if it needs to fit into a particular place.

Prices for the fine art canvases start at $150 and go up to $2000.

Contact me if you are interested in one or finding out more information about them.

February 6, 2008

Today I have been a little blog happy, basically catching up on the blog from this past weekend. So make sure to continue to scroll down the blog to see all of our recent sessions and my most recent modeling gig :)

It was time to do another sessions with my nephew Jackson and my sister and brother in law.  I love these sessions because I basically get to hang out with my sister who is one of my best friends and see my nephew while working, how could it get any better:)

Here are a few photos from the session, I swear he keeps getting cuter and cuter.

I am going to start off with my new all time favorite shot, and it’s not just because he is my nephew but I love his expression….

Move over Tyra Banks :)

February 6, 2008

So a couple weekends ago we had a booth at the Port Clinton Elks bridal fair and right before it started I was approached by a lady who owned the gown shop that had a booth and that was putting on the bridal fair.  At first not knowing who she was she asked “I have a strange question for you, what size are you?”  Well like anyone that kind of throw me off guard.  To make a long story short I believe I am now America’s next top Model!!!!

Here are some quick photos of my first and only modeling debut, because if any of you know me, I am not the center of attention type of person, that is why I am behind the camera :) Also we didn’t know we were going to have something so important to shoot that day so Joe had to take these with my little point and shoot.

I kept thinking the whole time, don’t fall, don’t fall and a couple of the dresses were a size to big so when I had those on I kept thinking don’t let the dress fall! (that’s right I had to make three different dress changes, it was definitely an experience to remember, but I don’t think they will be calling me for future shows :) )

Here are a few pics of our booth that show, thanks to all the girls who stopped by, and we are looking forward to hearing all about your wedding plans and working with you on your wedding day :)

Let me know what you think about me being America’s Next Top Model :) We love comments!
