New Hair!!!!

March 25, 2007

Well today I went to my hair stylist and got a new look!   I have been needing a make over pick me up and since I am trying to grow my hair out  for the wedding I decided to try something else!

I have been counting down for the past 3 weeks.   I am still getting use to it, I feel like I am looking at someone else in the mirror :)

Let me know what you think!

And this has nothing to do with my new look, but I thought I would throw a picture of Joe in there :)

Colbi’s Baby Shower

March 25, 2007

I am a little late on posting this, but a couple weeks ago my mom, aunt terri, cousin Kendra, Chelsea and myself through a baby shower for my sister with some help with (some fabulous) desserts by Colbi’s friends Erica and Melissa.

It was such a blast and I feel that  Colbi is now prepared as she ever will be for little Jackson.

Here are some pictures from the fun party!

Doesn’t she look beautiful!?!!!

My mom made little Jackson a quilt.  I am waiting to see if my kids will get one too :)

It was such a great, now it is just waiting for Jackson to come!  I can’t wait to be an aunt!!!!

Sara and Tyler

March 19, 2007

This Saturday Joe and I had so much fun photographing Sara and Tyler’s engagement session.  I use to work with Sara at Myles Pizza Pub down in BG (I would highly recomend the pizza there if you haven’t tried it).  Sara and Tyler met there (same place Joe and I met as well :) ) When they suggested going to Oak Openings for the pictures, I was excited because the last time I was there was in grade school with a YMCA field trip and I remembered the great Sand Dunes.  The park (although not very green this time of year) it was beautiful!  We had a blast with Sara and Tyler, and they braved the colder temp for the sake of the pictures (considering they are use to California weather).  We can not wait until their wedding at the end of May, it is going to be so much fun, and with as much as they love each other I know the whole time is going to be so great!

Hope you two have a safe trip back.

Today Joe and I had the pleasure of photographing Deanna and Bill’s wedding. I have known Deanna pretty much since I was born, her mom and my mom are great friends. Deanna is such a energetic, bubbly and super sweet person not to mention gorgeous! It is not hard to see the love between Bill and Deanna and they were both beaming today.

Here are a couple teaser photos. I will post more once we start editing, but since it is 1:00 in the morning I am going to head to bed and edit more tomorrow. So enjoy! Check back soon for some more photos and a slideshow!

Trash the Dress!?! …. That’s right we said it!

March 2, 2007

There is a new trend in wedding photography called “Trash the Dress”.  What is this you ask, well for all those brides who want to wear their dress more than once (and who doesn’t) it is an opportunity for you to wear it another time and to get some amazing photos that you wouldn’t be willing to do on your wedding day.  This does not mean that we ruin your dress, or rip it, etc.  It just mean maybe you will get your dress wet, or a little dirty, and really you have to have it cleaned before you put it in a box in your attic anyways.

We realize this type of session is not for every bride, and we will never pressure you into it.  But for any of you brides out there that are gutsy enough and want some fabulous images of you and your husband running around downtown, laying on the ground, rolling around on a beach (there are some at Maumee Bay or Marble Head/Port Clinton area), and maybe getting a little dirty.  This can be done the day after the wedding or post honeymoon.  These sessions are not about ruining your dress, it is all about FUN, which is what Shutter Love is all about!  This way we can go out have a fun day running around, going to different places, not worrying if the dress gets a little dirty and in the end you will have some images that are different than any of your friends images.

I highly recommend thinking about doing this and if you want some inspiration about what types of images check out the fabulous site www.trashthedress.com  it will give you an idea of what type of possiblities are out there.

And if it makes you feel any better I am definetly doing this with my dress when we get married in September (I am thinking Joe and myself on a Jetski al dressed up :)

If you are interest shoot us an email at info@shutterlovestudio.com  and the first daring bride who wants to do this we will give them a free session!!!!!

Happy Planning All!

OSP INDY…. what a great couple days

March 1, 2007

This Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday Joe and I went to Indianapolis for a photography conference

This conference was so inspirational to Joe and I about our business and our work.  We also have a lot of great new ideas, tips and techniques from some of our favorite photographers in the surrounding area.

We are so excited about our wedding this Saturday because we will get to try out some new things.  So check back soon to see some fabulous wedding photos!

Here is a picture of the large group of highly talented photographers that we got to be part of this past week!

I will hopefully have time to post some of the pictures I took there this weekend.  I can not thank  Anne, Jess, Amber, Nathan, Nate, Amanda, K.C.,  Kevin and everyone else that helped put this on, we had an absoulte blast and can’t wait till next time!

Here are a couple photos I took during the natural lighting session run by Jess and Amber.

First here is the all inspiring Jess, isn’t she beautiful!

Then we took some photos of Brandi’s adorable son Xander (Zander, I am not sure if it’s spelled with an X or Z, sorry!)

Then Lauren modeled for us.  She is a beautiful photographer from Ohio.  What a gorgeous smile!
